eDiscovery Job Roles Revealed

Have you ever wondered what everyone else in eDiscovery does all day? Why does opposing counsel do things a certain way? How do litigation holds come into play under different scenarios, e.g. what are all the legal decisions to consider? Speakers:

Serena Selzer is the Director of Legal Affairs for GuideWell Source, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Florida Blue. She joined the Florida Blue family of companies in 1998. She has extensive experience in working with the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in prosecuting physicians guilty of Medicare fraud. In her role as Director, Ms. Selzer is also responsible for the Records Management functions of her company and its two subsidiaries, First Coast Service Options, Inc. and Novitas Solutions, Inc. With a presence in 11 states and multiple Records vendors, Ms. Selzer has garnered vast experience in the field of Records Management. Ms. Selzer has a Bachelors degree in Political Science/Pre-law and a Masters degree in Criminal Justice.

Joe focuses his practice on the resolution of complex business disputes and on creditors’ rights. His experience includes representation in banking, finance and fiduciary relationships and in the property management, development, logistics and construction industries. Prior to entering practice, Joe was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Paul W. Grimm, U.S. District Judge for the District of Maryland and the then-Chair of the Discovery Subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules, Judicial Conference of the United States. Joe served eight years in the Military Police Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve. As a team leader on a Police Transition Team in Iraq, Joe spent ten months as an advisor to the Iraqi police, teaching operations and internal, intelligence and criminal investigations.

Sean Snyder is an eDiscovery professional with a continuous improvement mindset and successful track record in project management, litigation support, vendor relationship management, process optimization and customer satisfaction across multiple areas including regulatory compliance, corporate special investigations, human resources, multidistrict litigation and identity theft. Mr. Snyder also brings 20 years of IT experience. He is a frequent speaker on the subject of proportional litigation, project management, and EDRM. Mr. Snyder currently serves as a Director of Membership and Sponsorship on ACEDS Jacksonville Board.

Renee Cook brings high-caliber leadership experience as an accomplished Attorney and HR manager with a positive record of handling Employment Law and Criminal Law matters.

Ms. Cook is an active member of the State Bar of Florida and the State Bar of Illinois. Ms. Cook participated in approximately 20 jury trials, five of which as First Chair. Ms. Cook currently serves as a Secretary on ACEDS Jacksonville Board.

Brad Koehler is a Senior Director in the Forensic Technology Services group within Alvarez & Marsal’s Disputes and Investigations practice. He brings more than 13 years of experience in electronic discovery management, applied data analytics and development of solutions to information technology issues that arise from complex litigation, bankruptcy, investigations and other types of disputes. Mr. Koehler specializes in advising and delivering services across the full spectrum of the electronic discovery process from information governance, preservation and identification to collection and processing through review and production. He has significant experience managing large document reviews, which have involved technology assisted review, advanced analytics and the use of third party data mining and investigation tools. Mr. Koehler earned a bachelor’s degree, with honors, in industrial and systems engineering from Lehigh University.

Suzanne H. Clark directs the Legal Project Management practice of eDiscovery CoCounsel, pllc. Suzanne graduated from the University of Florida College of Law and began her legal career as merits counsel in commercial litigation. She later transitioned to a full-time focus on Electronic Discovery and is a nationally recognized speaker and panelist in eDiscovery education. She is a veteran of numerous document review projects, large and small, ranging from a multi-year SEC investigation involving millions of documents in Relativity to small single-event cases for personal injury firms. She holds the Certified Electronic Discovery Specialist (CEDS) designation of ACEDS, a certification requiring a rigorous peer reviewed examination in information technology, Project Management fundamentals, evidence management technology, and discovery jurisprudence. She is a frequent lecturer at legal Project Management educational events, including the annual University of Florida eDiscovery Conference, as well as numerous others. Suzanne co-founded the regional chapter of ACEDS which was later recognized as national Chapter of the Year for its vibrancy and outreach. She is former chair of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Legal Technology Committee and past board member of the Jacksonville Women Lawyer’s Association.
