ACEDS BENELUX CHAPTER INTRODUCES BOARD MEMBERS

The first professional eDiscovery Community in the region connects lawyers, corporate lawyers, researchers and LegalTech suppliers

The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) today introduces the Board of Members of its Benelux Chapter, the first professional eDiscovery community in the region. The members of the Board were introduced last Thursday during the informal launch reception in Amsterdam.

The organizational and logistical tasks for the ACEDS Benelux Chapter are in hands of Jan Scholtes and Annelore van der Lint from ZyLAB. As Chapter President and Vice President, they are the liaison with the ACEDS organization in the United States. In this position, they are also responsible for promotion and recruitment of members for the Benelux Chapter.

With their diverse backgrounds and experiences in eDiscovery, investigation, litigation and technology, the Board hopes to be a reflection of the community to be.

The Board mainly functions as a think tank and is responsible for programming the activities of the Benelux Chapter. They will use their expertise, experience and network for the educational agenda of the Benelux Chapter. By organizing regular online and physical meetings, the Board wants to offer a platform for the exchange of ideas, guidance, training and experiences.

Next Benelux Chapter Event: Screening of the Unique Documentary “AlphaGo”
On February 15 (starting at 4:00 PM), the ACEDS Benelux Chapter will show the gripping and educational documentary “AlphaGo”. The documentary “AlphaGo” chronicles a journey from the halls of Cambridge, through the backstreets of Bordeaux, past the coding terminals of DeepMind in London, and, ultimately, to the seven-day tournament in Seoul.

Prof. Jaap van den Herik, former president and editor in chief of the International Computer Games Association will introduce the film. As one of the pioneers in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Gaming and intelligent legal systems, he will explain what this milestone means for AI, the future of LegalTech and the legal profession in particular.

About the Board Members of the ACEDS Benelux Chapter

Bart Bruin
Bart Bruin is Co-founder and Director of forensic investigation agency, Integis. As experienced forensic accountant, Bart has executed numerous assignments for various clients, mostly in the field of integrity and security.

Yasmina Ben Daoued
Yasmina Ben Daoued is Litigation Support Specialist at law firm Allen & Overy. In this role, she operates on the cutting edge of business, law and technology. Her expertise is in large-scale (automated) fraud investigations and consultancy on the development and use of legal tech tools.

Marcel Westerhoud
Marcel Westerhoud is Co-founder and Partner at investigation and consultancy firm EBBEN Partners. Marcel is specialized in digital forensics and eDiscovery and has a broad experience in forensic fraud investigation in the private and public sector.

Olivier Aelterman
Olivier Aelterman is Regional Director for Belgium and France at Consilio, provider of legal consulting and services. Olivier is based in Brussels. Before joining Consilio, Olivier spend eight years managing international eDiscovery programs for law firm Linklaters.

Ruben Elkerboud
Ruben Elkerbout is a partner in the practice group Competition & Regulated Markets of law firm Stek. His specific expertise includes complex cartel procedures, leniency applications, (internal) investigations, audits and compliance.

Amy Hays
Amy Hays is a Legal Project Manager within the Legal Operations team as well as the Corporate M&A team of law firm NautaDutilh. Her main tasks include the coordination of due diligences cases within the Corporate M&A Group, process optimization through LEAN Six Sigma, as well as managing and coordinating different projects and processes within that Corporate M&A Group and company-wide.

Robin Fiolet
Robin Fiolet, criminologist and forensic investigator, is a member of the Corporate Investigations team of law firm Loyens & Loeff. He specializes in advising on and executing (internal) forensic investigations into corporate fraud.

Manon Bovens
Manon Bovens is legal counsel and has advised a broad range of multinational companies in complex cases before the European Commission and the ACM. Her practice covers all areas of competition law, including cartel investigations. She provides advice and training on competition law compliance and has a broad experience in advising on internal investigations and the use of legal tech.

Jan Scholtes
Jan Scholtes is Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer of ZyLAB. As ZyLAB’s President and CEO, Jan was involved in the deployment of eDiscovery software from 1989 to 2009 at the UN War Crimes Tribunals, the FBI-Enron investigations, the White House and thousands of other users worldwide. Scholtes holds the extraordinary chair ‘Text Mining’ from the Faculty of Data Sciences and Knowledge Engineering in the Artificial Intelligence group of the University of Maastricht.

Annelore van der Lint
Annelore van der Lint is Marketing Director for ZyLAB since 2010. Together with customers, partners and industry experts, she develops the marketing programs for various target groups in the world of eDiscovery and Information Governance.
