ACEDS Unveils New Digital Badge

ACEDS Unveils New Digital Badge, Providing eDiscovery Professionals a New Way to Validate Skills, Knowledge and Professional Certification

MIAMIOct. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — The Association of Certified eDiscovery Specialists (ACEDS), a BARBRI Professional Association, now offers a new benefit to its members holding the coveted Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) credential. The association’s new digital certification validation badge provides a way for professionals to easily differentiate themselves, validate their skills and enhance their professional brand.

ACEDS has partnered with Credly’s Acclaim platform to provide CEDS designees with a digital version of their credentials. The badges can be used in email signatures or digital resumes and on social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. The digital badge contains verified metadata that describes the holder’s qualifications and the work that was required to earn them. Potential clients, employers or customers can verify the CEDS certification simply by clicking on the badge.

Showcasing skills via the digital badge gives the CEDS certification holder a way to share abilities online in a manner that is simple, trusted and can be easily verified in real time. The well-known Acclaim platform offers an unmatched level of security for the digital badge holder, with each badge uniquely linked to verified data hosted on the platform. This makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming the credential and associated identity.

As an added benefit to CEDS certification holders, the Acclaim platform also offers labor market insights pulled from live job requisitions. Based on an individual’s skills, he or she can learn which employers are hiring, the specific job titles for which one might be qualified, salary ranges and more. Professionals can search and apply for job opportunities right through the Acclaim platform.

“Our goal is to continuously build our community and offer our CEDS professionals the resources they need to advance their careers,” said ACEDS Executive Director Mary Mack. “The CEDS certification is trusted and respected around the world and we’re very pleased to offer professionals an easy way to showcase their breadth of knowledge and skills. The added benefit through the labor markets insights is the opportunity to access potential jobs that are aligned with their professional skills. We believe this is a powerful new benefit for CEDS holders.”

The ACEDS Professional Association, part of leading legal education provider BARBRI, is a membership association committed to promoting and verifying eDiscovery skills and competence through training, education, and certification to organizations and individuals. The association’s goal is to help professionals and organizations reduce the costs and risks associated with eDiscovery and realize the advantages of performing it effectively. ACEDS awards the certified eDiscovery Specialist (CEDS) credential, which is held by practitioners at AmLaw 200 firms, government agencies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and U.S. Justice Department, and some of the largest corporations in the world.
