E-Discovery Day 2025: Innovation, Community, and Global Impact

On December 4, 2025, the global eDiscovery community will unite for E-Discovery Day, an annual celebration dedicated to the professionals, technologies, and innovations shaping the future of electronic evidence. Since the event’s launch in 2015, ACEDS has been involved from the very beginning, helping expand E-Discovery Day from an industry recognition moment into a worldwide movement supported by Exterro, EDRM, eDiscovery Today, and thousands of legal professionals across jurisdictions.

As the field evolves, driven by AI adoption, complex data types, and heightened regulatory expectations, the 2025 theme, “AI, Risk, and the Future of eDiscovery,” captures both the urgency and the opportunity ahead. With AI now embedded across workflows in law firms, corporate legal departments, service providers, and investigations teams, the need for technical competence, defensibility, and responsible innovation has never been greater.

This year’s educational programming brings together respected leaders, including Hon. Andrew Peck (Ret.), Miguel Villalobos, Bree Murphy, Ashley Picker-Dubin, Angela T. O’Neal, Fiona Campbell, Doug Austin, Kelly Twigger, Phoebe Gebre, Adam Wehler, and others who are shaping the future of digital evidence.

But what makes E-Discovery Day truly special for us is how ACEDS chapters bring the celebration to life worldwide through community events, collaborations, partnerships, and charitable impact. The global festivities begin in Australia and New Zealand before rolling across the U.S., Canada, and beyond.

ACEDS chapters bring E-Discovery Day to life each year through educational programs, social gatherings, and community-driven initiatives, often in partnership with Women in eDiscoveryILTA, and other leading legal technology organizations. Here’s what the ACEDS global community is hosting this year, beginning in the Southern Hemisphere:

One of the defining elements of E-Discovery Day is its commitment to charitable impact. ACEDS chapters consistently step up during this week to support organizations doing meaningful work.

These efforts underscore the heart of the eDiscovery community: technical excellence, compassion, and a drive to uplift others.
