More law firms are experimenting with agentic AI and maturing their internal AI efforts, though technology costs and potential accuracy and compliance risks are becoming a bigger concern, according to the International Legal Technology Association’s 2026 Legal Technology survey.
After surveying 140,000 lawyers across 508 law firms, ILTA found that more responsibilities related to gen AI are being given to gen AI task forces, law firms are using gen AI tools from a small number of providers and they are becoming increasingly concerned with compliance and technology costs.
