Generative AI and other legal technologies are becoming more of a priority for lawyers, and legal organizations are taking note, according to Wolters Kluwer’s 2024 Future Ready Lawyer Survey.
Wolters Kluwer surveyed 712 legal professionals in the U.S. as well as in Germany, the U.K., Italy, Spain, France, Poland, Hungary, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The survey found that firms and legal departments are leaning into gen AI adoption, using their tech investments to market themselves to new talent.
A majority, 73%, of organizations surveyed said they have attracted talent by investing in the latest legal technologies. Other popular strategies organizations used to attract talent include providing professional developments and training, competitive compensation, and prioritizing work-life balance.
Ken Crutchfield, Wolters Kluwer’s vice president and general manager of legal markets, said the next generation of legal professionals are going to have even more access to technology than generations before.
