Everlaw Achieves In Process FedRAMP Status for Litigation and Ediscovery Platform with Support from the U.S. Department of Justice

Paves the way for Federal adoption after 100% State-level use of its litigation platform, which facilitates lightning-fast discovery, collaboration, and productions

OAKLAND, Calif., April 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Everlaw announced today its litigation and ediscovery platform has achieved In Process status for the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), under federal agency sponsorship. Attorneys general in all fifty US states use Everlaw to facilitate cloud-first ediscovery, collaboration, and document review for productions, investigations, and litigation. When authorized, Federal counterparts around the U.S. Government will be able to easily explore implementing the litigation platform for their own ediscovery needs.

“Creating a modern and user-friendly solution for ediscovery and collaboration for government agencies and their lawyers has been central to Everlaw’s mission from the beginning,” said AJ Shankar, founder and CEO of Everlaw. “Federal agencies need an ediscovery platform that can spin up new cases quickly, has predictable pricing models which align with budget cycles, and innovates rapidly to keep pace with the constant evolution of discovery needs in modern business.”

The government-wide Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP, provides a standardized approach for vendor software security assessments, authorization, and monitoring. This framework uses a “do once, use many times” approach that empowers government agencies to adopt cloud products and services which meet their critical mission needs. Achieving the FedRAMP In Process designation signifies that Everlaw is actively working with the Department of Justice and the FedRAMP PMO to review their security package and technical environment required to achieve a FedRAMP Authorization.

“Our ability to attain FedRAMP In Process is a testament to our early implementation of a holistic security, privacy and compliance program. The framework for security and privacy at Everlaw is based on federal guidance regarding effective compliance and ethics programs,” said Lisa Hawke, VP of Security and Compliance at Everlaw. “We understand what government agencies expect when it comes to our organizational commitment to a culture of security and compliance, and independent validation of our operational effectiveness. This is demonstrated by our new FedRAMP In Process designation and achieving SOC 2 Type II compliance since 2016.”

“We’re excited to bring Everlaw to the federal market,” added Shankar. “Achieving our In Process designation highlights how closely our approach aligns with the CIO Council’s Cloud Smart strategy, especially in security.”
