Resilience, reactivity and reinvention were among the topics actor, author and podcast host Rob Lowe discussed during his keynote conversation at Legalweek on Tuesday.

Lowe kicked off the second day of the four-day event at the Hilton Midtown Hotel in Manhattan. He spoke with Gina Passarella, senior vice president of content at ALM, in a session titled “The Art of Reinvention: Turning Setbacks Into Stepping Stones,” about how he has maintained a decades-long career in the entertainment industry and how he has overcome struggles to reinvent his career and himself as a person.

Lowe, who told the audience he has had a TV show on air every year since 1999, began his career in 1979 at 15 when he starred in ABC’s sitcom “A New Kind of Family.” He soon rose to prominence in the 1980s through his work in such films as “The Outsiders” and “St. Elmo’s Fire.” He credits having an open mindset and learning how to adapt to change for the longevity of his nearly 50-year career in show business.
