Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming corporate compliance operations, with 64% of organizations now using AI tools for compliance and investigations processes, according to international law firm White & Case’s latest Global Compliance Risk Benchmarking Survey.

The study found that AI is no longer a niche tool, but still found that “adoption levels vary considerably across different organization types and sizes.”

The survey of 265 senior compliance, legal and risk professionals worldwide reveals a striking divide in AI adoption rates, with publicly listed companies nearly twice as likely (44%) to use AI for both compliance and investigations compared to private companies (23%).

The disparity becomes even more pronounced when examining revenue levels; 59% of the highest-revenue organizations leverage AI across both functions, versus just 14% of their lowest-revenue counterparts, according to the survey.
