Relativity Trace Now Offers Out-of-the-Box Surveillance Policies

Policies monitor the most common behaviors, eliminating manual exercise of creating rules from scratch

CHICAGO, March 4, 2020 — Relativity Trace, a proactive compliance monitoring offering built on top of the Relativity platform, announced it is now offering 18 out-of-the-box surveillance policies for all clients licensing the product. The goal of the surveillance policies is to allow customers to monitor their organization’s communications for compliance purposes and generate alerts right away, bringing an industry baseline for what risk looks like, and taking the manual creation of rules out of the equation.

A critical part of Relativity Trace are the rules and the alerts that they generate to detect suspicious activity as it happens and before it escalates. The surveillance policies leverage the searching capabilities of dtSearch, making the terms underneath each policy to be more complex than a single keyword. This reduces false positives and increases review efficiency for compliance teams across all industries. The policies also incorporate other metadata elements like the directionality and channel, and each policy is mapped with a machine learning model that will learn over time.

“We understand that it’s not always easy to know exactly which behaviors to look for, so we have baked our industry knowledge and expertise right into the solution,” said Jordan Domash, General Manager of Relativity Trace. “I’m excited that now our clients can generate and review alerts once they deploy the product, allowing them to dig into their data more quickly than ever.”

The policies include sharing of inside information, collusion, bribery and corruption, improper gifts and entertainment, and more. Enhancements to the policies will be made on an ongoing basis to make them more powerful and flexible to meet customers’ needs. Changes can also be made to each policy at each individual customer’s discretion. Additionally, the policies support standards set by regulatory bodies such as: ESMA, EBA, FCA, SEC, FINRA, and CFTC.

The Relativity Trace team will be at The Surveillance Summit, hosted by 1LoD, on March 18th in London. If you’re interested in learning more about Relativity Trace and the out-of-the-box policies, stop by for a product presentation from 12:25-12:40 p.m., where Peter Haller, Sr. Product Manager, will be showcasing Relativity Trace.
