Baker McKenzie announced Monday the appointment of its IP and tech associate Danielle Benecke and Elevate’s former digital strategy and solutions vice president Brian Kuhn as co-founders of a team tasked with leading the firm’s AI transformation.
While Benecke was a familiar face to Baker McKenzie prior to being appointed as co-founder of its tech transformation, Kuhn joins the firm after a career primarily spent leading legal service providers. In 2015, he co-founded and led IBM’s Watson Legal Consulting, while in 2020 Kuhn joined Elevate to guide law firms and legal departments during their digital transitions.
Kuhn said he decided to leave Elevate to focus on developing custom solutions. “What I’ve long focused on is custom AI [that] frankly solves client-specific, customer-specific business problems. That’s where my heart is,” he said. “This opportunity seemed like the best way to do that.”
