September 28, 2022 – PHILADELPHIA, PA. – The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS), the world’s leading e-discovery training and certification professional association and part of The BARBRI Group, announced today the reformation of its Philadelphia, Pennsylvania chapter.
The reformation was driven by several ACEDS members who will be local ambassadors for ACEDS and provide a local forum through which legal professionals in Pennsylvania could support the advancement of e-discovery and its adjacent areas within the legal industry. The chapter will also work towards ushering new talent into the industry and providing current legal professionals with ongoing educational opportunities.
The following experts will serve as the volunteer officers for the ACEDS Philadelphia Chapter:
- President: Sarah Leonard
- Vice President: Richard Slawter
- Treasurer: Mimi Singh
- Public Relations & Marketing Director: Megan Soska
- Director of Membership: Michael Reeve
- Directors at Large: Christopher Orrin, Christa Iannone, and Vivian Funchion
“The Philadelphia Chapter lost momentum during Covid, but I think we’ll see it gain traction again just based on the initial calls with our new Philadelphia board members,” said Maribel Rivera, VP of Strategy and Client Engagement at ACEDS. “They have already begun planning events and putting a strategy in place for the next few months.”
The board of volunteer officers are currently developing the Chapter’s bylaws and coordinating an official inaugural event for December for Philadelphia ACEDS members and legal professionals to attend.
The board has also scheduled an in-person informal gathering for October 4th at 7:30 am at Duane Morris LLP located at 30 S 17th St in Philadelphia, PA. Bagels and coffee/tea will be provided courtesy of KLDiscovery. To join the networking event, attendees can register here.
