The United Nations has declared Feb. 11 the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. To mark the occasion, Legaltech News has compiled a growing list of female and gender fluid founders who have created products and launched companies in the legal technology space.
Despite the legal tech industry’s efforts to elevate a more diverse group of legal tech leaders in recent years, whether it be with diversity-centered conference sessions or pitch competitions for emerging startups, such efforts have yet to translate into a wider distribution of investment. Based on the legal tech funding news covered by Legaltech News in 2023, only slightly less than 9% of the companies who raised funds last year had women CEOs. Yet, despite these male-dominated statistics, there’s no shortage of women-founded companies in the legal tech space.
